Class 2 Understanding Wood

- Types of wood (hardwood vs softwood)
- Reading wood grain
- Wood movement and moisture content
- Selecting lumber at the store
- How to store and season wood
Essential Tools & How to Use Them
- Hand Tools:
Hammer, hand saw, chisels, mallet, measuring tools, clamps, hand planes
- Power Tools (basic intro):
Drill/driver, circular saw, jigsaw, orbital sander
- Measuring & Marking Tools:
Tape measure, combination square, speed square, marking gauge

Class 3 Woodworking Tools

Joinery Basics

- Butt joint

- Lap joint

- Dado and rabbet

- Pocket hole joinery

- Intro to dovetail and mortise & tenon

Sanding, Finishing & Assembly
